Laila Biali Trio — A Joni Mitchell Tribute

CONCERT OVERVIEW

Multi-award-winning Canadian singer-songwriter, pianist and CBC Music national radio host Laila Biali brings her trio to our stage for a special tribute to the music of her friend Joni Mitchell. A 2026 GRAMMY nominee, Biali has a signature sound that transcends genre — she “masterfully mixes jazz and pop, bringing virtuosity and unpredictability to songs that are concise and catchy” (Washington Post). Her most recent album, Wintersongs, earned a 2025 JUNO Award nomination and a 2026 GRAMMY nomination alongside heavyweights including Lady Gaga, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Jennifer Hudson and Laufey. This is a very special concert you won’t want to miss. Learn more at lailabiali.com.

ABOUT LAILA BIALI

Born in Vancouver and now based in Toronto, Laila Biali has become one of Canada’s most celebrated jazz artists — a singer, pianist and composer whose work has carried her across five continents, from Carnegie Hall in New York to Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts. She earned a 2019 JUNO Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year, has performed alongside and in support of international icon Sting, and hosts CBC Music’s national radio program Saturday Night Jazz. Her most recent album, Wintersongs — a cinematic love letter to Canadian winter written during a retreat in the Rocky Mountains — earned a 2026 GRAMMY nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, a remarkable honor for an independent artist sharing the category with the likes of Lady Gaga and Barbra Streisand. Known for her pure, soaring voice and fearless imagination at the piano, Biali brings warmth, virtuosity and genuine storytelling to every performance.
