Kurt Morrow and Group Pay Tribute to 100 Years of Miles Davis and John Coltrane
This past Sunday we kicked off our 2026 Concert Season with a tribute for two jazz icons, Miles Davis and John Coltrane, who were each born 100 years ago in 1926. Taking us on the musical journey were a quintet, led by bassist Kurt Morrow, who had a brief encounter with Miles and shared personal stories about his musical endeavors. Kurt and his colleagues prepared their program especially for our Topeka Jazz audience who we hope enjoyed this incredible and meaningful afternoon of jazz celebration.
